Consider it your safety net for those "oops, didn't see that coming" moments. ## When you would use We’ve got your back Imagine a winter storm knocks out power, and the gas line freezes. No heat, no stove. But you're prepared! You light a long-burning candle for warmth and use the portable stove to heat up a comforting meal from the emergency food supply. The weather radio keeps you informed, and the water filter ensures access to safe drinking water. When night falls, the waterproof sleeping bag provides a warm, secure place to rest, and you even get to play a game! With "We've Got Your Back," unexpected situations become manageable, even a little less stressful. ## How we selected the items We thought through the common pitfalls of emergency preparedness, addressing the gaps that often get overlooked. It's easy to stock up on food, but what about cooking it when the power's out? That's why we included a versatile stove and fuel options. Many forget about entertainment when the lights go out, and boredom can be a real drag, so we put that in there too! We combined items that work together – like the water filtration system and shelf-stable food – to ensure you have a comprehensive solution for essential needs. ## Item Highlights * **15 Hour Burn Time Candles:** Long-lasting light source designed for emergencies, not just ambiance. * **Waterproof Mylar Sleeping Bags:** Compact and life-saving, reflecting body heat to keep you warm and dry. * **Emergency Weather Radio:** Stay informed with solar/hand-crank power – no batteries needed! * **Portable Solar Panel:** Keep your devices charged with this high capacity power bank & solar panel. **Estimated total:** Starts at $160. The Emergency Essentials kit is ideal for families, individuals, and households preparing for power outages, winter storms, and natural disasters. It works for anyone who wants a comprehensive, ready-to-go solution rather than assembling items piecemeal. ### How long will this kit sustain me? The kit is designed to support you for up to a month, depending on usage. The emergency food, water filtration system, and fuel supplies are sized to provide essential nutrition and hydration during extended outages or shelter-in-place situations. ### What makes this different from a basic emergency kit? This kit includes items often overlooked in generic kits: a portable cooking stove so you can prepare food without power, water filtration for safe drinking water, entertainment to manage stress, and redundant power sources (solar and hand-crank) that don't rely on batteries or electricity. ### Do I need batteries for the radio and flashlight? No. The emergency weather radio and LED flashlights feature both solar charging and hand-crank power, so you're never dependent on batteries or grid power. The radio also receives emergency broadcast stations to keep you informed. ### Can I use this kit for camping or outdoor activities? Yes. While designed primarily for emergency preparedness and shelter-in-place scenarios, many items like the portable stove, sleeping bags, water filtration, and solar power bank are versatile enough for camping trips and outdoor adventures.
