Open Browse Kits under BeEquipped in the sidebar. The left column lists eight resilience systems, such as Water and Power. Pick one to see only the kits that keep it running. Search finds kits by name or description, and Refine holds sorting, grouping, and six more filters. With a finished BeReady plan, your matched kits appear first.
How is the catalog laid out?
The catalog is one grid of kit pictures, organized by resilience system unless you choose otherwise. The headline reads "Every kit, by what it keeps running," and the line under it counts the kits you are looking at.

The column on the left is the systems index: Everything, then Power, Water, Food, Communications, Medical, Safety, Fuel, and Transport. Picking a system swaps the headline for a plain line about that system and shows only its kits. A system with no kits is greyed out. On a phone, the same list is a dropdown above the grid, with a kit count next to each system.
A kit appears under every system it supports, so the same kit can show up in more than one group. Kits not tagged to any system sit at the end under Broad coverage.
Each card shows a picture, the kit's name, a short description, and a price in the top corner:
- A price followed by + is the lowest configuration. The kit costs more if you choose a longer duration or a bigger household.
- The i beside the headline opens About kit images. Kit pictures are AI-generated illustrations. They show the kind of items in a kit, not the exact brands, models, or quantities you will receive.
- The i beside the Kits title opens About these kits: how many kits and scenarios the catalog covers, the eight essential supply categories, and a link to the full BeEquipped overview.
Search and Refine the catalog
The Search kits box sits at the top of the page. On a phone, tap the magnifying glass to open it, and tap the X to clear and close it. Search matches a kit's name, description, and short description, and the grid narrows as you type.
Refine opens a panel from the right side (from the bottom on a phone). It has three parts.
- Sort. Featured is the default order, and currently lists kits by name. You can also sort by Price: low to high, Price: high to low, Name (A to Z), or Most items. Price sorts use each kit's lowest price. If you have a finished BeReady plan, Best fit ยท your plan appears at the top of the list.
- Organize the page by. Choose Resilience system (the default), Scenario, How long, Budget, or Nothing for one flat grid.
- Narrow it down. Each filter opens to a list of choices with a live count of matching kits beside each one:
- Scenario: the emergency the kit is built for.
- Stay or go: Stay put (riding it out at home) or Get out (leaving fast with what you can carry).
- Household: Children, Elderly, Medical, Mobility, Pets, or Apartment / Condo.
- How long: the durations kits are built for, shortest first.
- Budget: $0 โ $750, $751 โ $2,000, $2,001 โ $5,000, or Over $5,000. Picking two bands selects everything between them.
- What it contains: one of the eight essential categories, such as Radio Communications or Shelter & Sleep.
- Climate: shown only when kits in the catalog carry climate tags.
Two choices inside one filter show kits that match either one. Choices in different filters stack, so a kit has to match all of them. A choice with no matching kits is greyed out.
The Refine button shows a badge with the number of filters you have applied, and an X beside it clears them in one tap. Search counts as a filter. Your system choice in the left column does not, so clearing filters leaves it in place. The panel's footer has Clear filters and a See N kits button that closes the panel.
Your view is saved in the page address. A reload, the back button, or a link you send someone shows the same filters and sort.
For example, a family planning to evacuate might pick Get out under Stay or go, add their household under Household, and sort by Most items to compare the fullest go-bags first.
How does Matched to your plan work?
If you have a completed BeReady plan, a band called Matched to your plan sits at the top of the catalog with up to three of the kits your plan scored. Your plan scores each kit against the scenarios you chose, and the page uses your most recent completed plan.
- A kit's match percentage is its best score across your plan's scenarios.
- Cards with a match of 60% or higher wear a green badge that reads "N% match to your plan." Below 60%, no badge appears.
- In the band, tap the badge to read why the kit fits your plan, when your plan includes that explanation.
- Show everything my plan calls for filters the whole catalog to your plan's scenarios and sorts by best fit. It also clears your other filters, your search, and your system choice.
If you have not built a plan yet, there is no band. Building your BeReady plan first lets the page do this narrowing for you. Your plan decides what your household needs, and this page finds the kits that cover it.
Why does the catalog say no kit covers my choices?
Because no single kit matches every filter you stacked. The page says "No off-the-shelf kit covers all of that" and offers two ways out:
- Clear filters removes your filters and search and returns you to Everything.
- Build a custom kit takes you to the build-your-own flow, where you assemble a kit item by item to your exact requirements.
The same build-your-own door is always on the page. In a flat grid it is the last tile, Build your own. In a grouped view it is the row at the bottom, "Nothing here is quite right?"
To undo a single choice, open Refine, go into that filter, and tap the choice again.
Combo price lines on the cards
Combo price lines appear only while the Combo kit discount is turned on, which happens when BePrepared fulfills kits directly. When kits are sold at cost through Amazon, the cards carry a single price. How the Combo kit discount works explains both cases.
When the discount is on:
- If you qualify, the card prices already include it. On a wide screen, a badge near the top of the page reads "X% off applied."
- If you do not qualify, each card adds a second line, "$Y with Combo." On a wide screen, a green Save X% with Combo pill opens a short note about Combo and a See pricing button.
Opening a kit and adding it to your cart
Click any card to open a quick view without leaving the catalog. It shows what is inside and lets you Select Duration, choose a Household Size for most kits, and Add to Cart. If you open a card in a new tab instead, you get the kit's full page.
Signed out, the same catalog is public at the kit catalog, without plan matching or member pricing. When you are ready to buy, your cart is under Cart in the BeEquipped group.
