Help Center
The Help Center is a set of short, visual guides to getting the most out of BePrepared. Start with what you need; every guide leads with the answer.
Getting Started
BeAware
Why live monitoring matters
ExplainerBeAware monitors the addresses you care about and tells you when a new hazard shows up, so you have time to prepare instead of react.
Read your monitoring dashboard
How-toThe BeAware monitoring dashboard is one live view of your area. A status bar shows your location and overall risk, and five tabs (Utilities, Emergency, Digital, Environmental, News) sort live events. The map shows where they are, and a bottom ticker scrolls breaking alerts.
Understand your baseline report severity
ExplainerBaseline report severity rates each hazard at your address from its historical track record and physical setting. It is not a forecast for this week, and it is not a grade of how prepared you are.
How BeAware alert notifications work
ExplainerWe watch official feeds around the clock and email you only when an alert near your addresses meets your urgency bar.
Set up alerts: channels, thresholds, and quiet hours
How-toOpen Alert Settings (/beaware/alert-settings) to pick which alert categories notify you and how urgent an alert must be. To add texts or WhatsApp to email, verify your phone with a 6-digit code on that page; changes save automatically.
Why didn't I get an alert?
FixThe most common reasons an event near you did not produce an email, and how to check what happened.
BeReady
Create a plan: the 7-step wizard, start to finish
TutorialCreating a BeReady plan means working through a 7-step wizard: address, household, configuration, scenarios, impacts, time horizon, then review. On the review screen you press Build my plan and wait up to 6 minutes for your personalized plan.
My Supplies: quantities, scaling, and time horizons
ExplainerYour supply list turns a BeReady plan into a precise shopping list. Quantities follow your household size and the plan's time horizon, from 72 hours up to a year. The list shrinks as you mark what you already own.
Run a drill
TutorialOpen /beready/drills and pick one of the two drills suggested for your household. Read the 25-minute script aloud at the kitchen table (no equipment needed), then click "Mark this drill as run" to record it.
Track skills and mark mastery
How-toThe Skills Tracker turns the kits on your plan plus eight core Foundations skills into a record for each household member. Mark who has actually learned each one, and see where your household stands.
My Tribe: invite, share, and your privacy controls
How-toMy Tribe lets you connect with a trusted household inside BeReady. You share only what you choose, one line at a time, and you can stop sharing whenever you want.
BeEquipped
Browse kits and filter to your plan
How-toOpen Browse Kits under BeEquipped, pick a resilience system on the left, or search by name. Use Refine to sort, regroup or narrow by scenario, household, duration, budget, contents or climate; a finished BeReady plan adds Matched to your plan.
How the Combo kit discount works
ExplainerCombo members get an automatic kit discount, 5% by default, when BePrepared fulfills kits itself. While kits pass through to Amazon at cost, there is no markup to discount, so no separate Combo kit discount applies.
BeAdvised
Account & Billing
Change your plan: upgrades, downgrades, and proration
How-toChange your plan from the Subscription tab on /profile. Upgrade to Combo or switch to annual in place with prorated billing, or cancel a product to drop it when your paid period ends.
Two-factor authentication and sign-in codes
How-toBePrepared has no authenticator-app two-factor sign-in yet. It does ask for a one-time code by email or text after every 10 password sign-ins. You can protect your account further from the Account tab on your profile.
Common tasks
I'm not getting alerts
FixIf BeAware alerts are not reaching you, check the category, urgency level and channel in Alert Settings, and look in your spam folder. Today only emergency and environmental alerts send messages; outages show on your dashboard.

How-toWhat every control on the on-air run page does, from the segment companion and resizable columns to mark moment, auto-advance, text size and full screen. It also lists every keyboard shortcut you can drive it with.

How the partner program works
ExplainerThe partner program in plain terms: how your tracked link credits referrals to you, how long that credit lasts, and how your share is calculated and paid.
Read your partner dashboard
How-toWhat each card on the partner dashboard means: your standing, the three money figures, the referral funnel, and the by-campaign table.
Share your tracked link
How-toEvery way to put your partner link in front of an audience: copy it, say your code on air, build campaign links, embed a button on your site, and share to social.
