Your data, cancelling and refunds

BePrepared keeps your home address and details about the people you live with, so you should know exactly what we do with them. Here it is in plain language.

What we store

The main things we store:

  • Your account: name and email address, a hashed password unless you sign in with Google, and a phone number if you add one.
  • The addresses you ask us to monitor, turned into map coordinates so we can match warnings to them.
  • The household details you choose to give for your plan: first names or nicknames, ages, pets, and any health or mobility needs you enter.
  • Payment references from Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe processes every payment.

We also keep order and booking records, and account activity and site usage logs (session recordings only if you accept analytics cookies). How long each is kept is in section 10 of our Privacy Policy.

Checking an address on the homepage keeps nothing about it on our side: we look it up to show you the preview, and the address stays in your browser until you start a plan.

Rather not share your own address? A neighbor's address a few doors down gives almost the same alerts, because alerts cover the whole county. Flood zone and wildfire hazard belong to the exact spot.

Where it lives

Mainly in the United States. Our database and sign-in run on Supabase, and the site runs on Render in Oregon. Card payments are handled by Stripe. The full list of services that process data for us is in section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

Who sees it

We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

Your plan and report are written with AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, reached through OpenRouter. They receive the household details, address and any health details your plan needs. When we draft your BeReady plan, we swap each household member's first name for a code; only the final editing step sees the real names, once, so each person is named consistently. Your BeAware report, and the illustrations in your plan when they are included, use the names you entered. The providers' terms prohibit training on this data. The details are in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

Taking your data with you, or deleting it

Your plan is yours. While your subscription is active, download it as a PDF or print it, and keep a copy before you cancel: once a paid period ends, your plans are kept but locked until you subscribe again. At any time, Export My Data in your profile downloads your profile, plans and inventory. For a complete copy of everything we hold about you, email privacy [at] bepreparedsolutions.co.

To delete your account and data, email privacy [at] bepreparedsolutions.co. We delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention and financial records. Order and transaction records are pseudonymized and kept as tax law requires. The retention periods are in section 10 of our Privacy Policy.

Cancelling

Cancel anytime from your profile: open Subscription, or write to support [at] bepreparedsolutions.co (Terms §5.4). Your subscription stops renewing, and you keep everything you paid for until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account moves to the free plan, and your plans are kept but locked until you subscribe again.

The free trial needs no card and never charges you. When it ends, nothing renews: you only pay if you choose a plan.

Refunds

  • Yearly plans: you can ask for a refund within 7 days of your first yearly payment, from your profile (Subscription) or by email to privacy [at] bepreparedsolutions.co (Terms §18). Each person can get one yearly-plan refund, ever. Refunds are processed within 10 business days to your original payment method.
  • Monthly plans are not refunded. Cancel instead, and you will not be charged again.
  • The full terms are in section 6 of our Terms of Service.
